last weekend
I went away with 2 lovlies for a sewing intensive.
This top was made - free pattern found here (Our Fave Top). So easy, especially when you're lazy like me and just stitch about 6 rounds around the cut neck line and sleeve openings and 3 rounds around the bottom (Oh, I did adjust the neck line from the original pattern)
bye bye quilt, I will see you again - not in my home though :)

Thank goodness this quilt is now finished, I cannot tell you how much of a thorn in my side it has been. Quite a while ago, years ago I think I started this for my Ma, anyway the finished top sat in her cupboard until she said she'd like it finished - Oh joy I thought...
I don't know about you but I find it very difficult to work on something I don't particularly like, alas it was for my Ma so I pushed on and now it's finished - you don't know how happy I am.

pram / dolls quilt
some friends have recently had a baby girl so I made them a little quilt that could go in the pram and then down the track she could use it as a dolls quilt. I realise it doesn't look square but it is honestly...
the binding was kindly donated - scraps from the backing of this one - thanks K, much appreciated xx.

basting :: completed :: ready for hand quilting
I met up with Kylie on Saturday at amitie - the backing and binding fabrics were very well chosen, below is the backing. The binding I'll share when I'm closer to that stage. I shall await the arrival of the perle 8 for the hand quilting.... (no pressure K :)), I have a little something else on the go at the moment.
Basting is not so bad when you put on a few tunes and take your time...

couldn't stop :: had to keep going
after finishing the quilt top the other day, I wasn't ready to stop so I put a few of the little scraps together and made a dolls quilt for little miss goLdChaLK
a few of my favourite Liberty's - I love the light blue one with the tiny birds and the tiny leaves - so sweet. I have a little treasured piece of it and it's in a couple of my quilts. Every now and then you come across some fabric that you just fall in love with, you don't just like it or think it's ok - you love it.
